We're Christian and Bre. Three years into a renovation that still isn't finished.

Our story

In 2023, we bought a 1996 Cape Cod style home in Indiana and decided to renovate the majority of it ourselves.

We met on the Hinge dating app in 2022. After dating for a year and a half, we took a leap and bought a house together. Our priorities were privacy, mature trees, a big yard for Christian's dog Odin, and something with character, even if it needed work.

We originally wanted to stay on the north side of Indianapolis, but our search led us west. That's when we found a Cape Cod home tucked away on a cul-de-sac, with towering trees and a large, private, forested backyard. Despite our hesitation about moving back to the west side, we knew instantly it was the one before we ever took a step inside, even if it was stuck in the '90s and needed a major update.

It turned out that our backgrounds made us the perfect team for this kind of project: I'm a design lead in tech, and Christian is an engineer. I dream it up, and he does the hard math and builds it.

If you're wondering who the voice behind the blog is, it's me, Bre. I write every post, shoot the photos, and run our social media accounts. I started Home on Station Hill to document our renovation journey and to give myself a creative outlet to design, experiment, and grow alongside the house.

Most home renovation blogs skip straight to the reveal. I’m here for everything in between. The paint colors we got wrong, the design debates, and the projects that sat on pause for months because life happened. Whether you’re here for a tutorial or just some solidarity in the chaos of a home update, we're glad you found us.
